Yard Sale Lollapalooza

Today was the semi-annual Crescent Lake Yard Sale.  I took a walk this morning over to the park, stopping on my way for a coffee and breakfast sandwich at Panera.

I had a spot at this sale a couple years ago.

On my way back I headed south towards 11th Ave North to pick up a map for the Old Northeast Yard Sale which was being held at the same time.  I passed these two structures which I don't recall seeing before.  Either I never walked on this block, or I'm getting more forgetful with old age.  As my Nana use to say, getting "hardening of the art-trees".

I stopped by only a handful of the sales.  But, I'm not much of a yard sailor, so I headed home for an iced tea.  I figure I have enough garbage of my own.

Lunch with Janet and Entourage

We met up with Janet and entourage for lunch on Saturday at the Island Outpost in Dunedun, near Honeymoon Island.  Janet and I worked together for many years at DCJS in Albany.

Janet with Allen and Marge.  Her friends from Albany who now live in Jacksonville.

Cara, Janet's daughter and her daughter Kai, next to her; And Ella and Jayden, Jason and Denise's two older daughters.

Jason, Janet's son, and his youngest, Jo.  Jason's wife Denise, was left behind up in Indiana.

Sharon and Skip.  Sharon is Janet's late husband Jack's sister.

Wayne and me.

My giant crab cake.

Amarylis in Wayne's backyard.

Wayne made this trifle to bring to Dave's party on Saturday night.  Pound cake drizzled with Amaretto, vanilla pudding with some Amaretto added, raspberries, whipped cream and slivered almonds.  A party hit!  He also made chocolate cookie truffles too!

Breakfast with Tiffany (and The Ls and Robert and Kyle)

Had a nice breakfast on Friday morning in Bradenton with Linda and Louie and Robert and Tiffany and Kyle.  RT&K came from Orlando to visit (posted here).  I haven't seen them since autumn 2006 when I visited Orlando from Albany.  Kyle was a wee bit smaller back then!  We had a scrumptious breakfast then hung around the pool and chatted while Kyle kept us entertained with his antics in the water!

Honda Grand Prix Parade 2012

Last night was the illuminated night parade, as part of the festivities of the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg 2012.  We walked down to meet Pete at the Keller Williams 'Hot Spot' for a buffet before the parade.  Spotted these flowers on the walk down.

I chose a vantage point on Beach Drive on the northwest corner of Beach and 2nd Ave North.
Looking across the street, there is Kevin, Joe, Pete and Chase.  I'm not sure where Dave is.
Caught this color guard in passing.

It was a very slow moving parade and I did become a bit bored after a while.  We left the parade a little earlier and headed back to the KW office to sit and chat.

We didn't hang around for the fireworks, but after I was back in my apartment, I could hear them going off, albeit about a half hour late.  They finale was just after 10:00 PM.

I attempted to get more pictures of the race car drivers, but it was getting too dark and I could only catch a clearer photo if they were at a stop, so I missed most of them.  :-(
Tomorrow morning I'll be able to hear the roar of the engines when I wake up.  Practice starts at 8:05 AM!

Morning Walk Before Big Race Weekend

Another beautiful morning for a walk. Is there no end?  :-)  Caught this surf sailing by in the Bay at a good clip!  Nice morning breeze.
Looking east over Tampa Bay from Demen's Landing.

We walked down to Demen's Landing.  This is looking north.
Someone here for the Honda Grand Prix this weekend?

Getting ready for the American Stage park presentation of "Rocky Horror Picture Show".
One turn in the track.

Caught a couple cars in practice runs.

PBS Vote 2nd Avenue Short Video

My son Joe's video he created is up against two other short videos on the PBS Channel 13 in New York City this week.  The winning video gets played on air this Saturday night.  Right now his video is neck and neck with one other.  If you are so inclined, please vote for his video and if you are also inclined, we would be grateful if you'd share it with friends and family!  Thank you in advance! Oh, and the guy in the middle seat is Joe!

The race ended at 5:00 PM on Wednesday.  2nd Avenue getting 1892 votes, losing by 29 votes!  It was an exciting race!  Thanks to all who participated and supported Joe's film!  This video is being promoted by Google+ and Google Maps!

Thanks so much!

Evening & Morning Walk in St. Pete

St. Petersburg has been ranked at the top of the list of the saddest places to live.  I am very sad to live amongst such beauty.

Sunset Walk

I managed to take a walk just before sunset and brought my camera along.  So much in bloom!  This row of trees is just up the block from my apartment.

This shot is along Coffee Pot Bayou.

Near the North Shore beach.
